If it Seems Too Good to be True, it Probably is
We’ve all heard the old adage a million times, and it’s particularly true when it comes to real estate. If you see a home that’s priced waaaay below everything else that seems “comparable” on the market, there’s a reason; probably a “very expensive” reason.
It’s also true when you see unbelievable claims about investments. I found this article a couple of weeks ago, and havn’t had a chance to write about it until now. Essentially the article is about a real estate trainer, Mark Kozlowski, who will teach you how to buy homes in the US with no money down, and flip it or rent it out at a huge profit. You just have to attend his free seminar, where he will try to convince you to attend his $3500 seminar, where he will teach his methods.
During the free seminar you’ll see video testimonials from other happy participants, explaining how much money they made from what they learned at his seminar.
Turns out the testimonials aren’t true.
The testimonials were taken before the deals closed, and the deals never did close. The participants that gave the testimonials repeatedly asked to have them taken down from the web site and removed from his seminars, but they weren’t. So, they contacted the CBC and this is the result.
It’s a sad thing to realize you can’t even trust testimonials these days. We’ve written about this in the past, and our brokerage is committed to collecting and sharing third party verified customer satisfaction ratings from our clients. Hopefully this just encourages people to think twice about unbelievable claims and to do their homework.
