The real estate market was fairly active in August in Edmonton. 823 single family homes sold in August, up from 706 last year, and the most we've seen for this month since 2006.
Condo sales were also the highest we've seen in the month of August since 2006. 463 condos sold in August, up from 358 last year.
Prices held fairly steady in August. The average single family home sale price was $409,778, up from $394k last August and about the same as last month. The median sale price for single family homes was $375k, up from $358k last year and about the same as last month. The average condo sale price was $244,223 in August, up from $236k last year and unchanged from last month. The median condo sale price was $230k, up from $223k last year and $228k last month.
Single family homes sold on average for $269/square foot, up from $264 last year and down from $274 last month. Condos sold on average for $236/square foot, up from $232 last year and unchanged from last month.
