It's not everyday I am really excited about something our city has done, but this weekend I most definitely was. Two new additions to the river valley have opened up a whole new world of trails to those of us who live in the far west and southwest. Biking on the weekend I found a gorgeous new paved trail that starts in Cameron Heights, goes under the Anthony Henday bridge crossing the river and ending in Haddow.
The bridge and trail opens up all sorts of un-paved trails that connect to Terwillegar Park, Fort Edmonton Park and the new foot bridge crossing the river at Fort Edmonton Park. For those that love our River Valley (one of the things that makes this city great in my opinion) there are some new, great loops created by these new trails and bridges. See you in the valley!
This is a photo I took (on my iphone sorry it's not great) of the pedestrian bridge underneath the Anthony Henday bridge near Cameron Heights:
