Attention Edmonton Entrepreneurs: Business Idea

Here is an idea for someone out there looking to start a new business… Real Estate Appointments. Setting up appointments to show homes is one of the most time consuming things we have to do as Realtors and it requires no special skill.

Here is how it typically works - buyer's agent calls seller's agent and requests a showing time. Seller's agent calls seller to set it up. Seller's agent calls buyer's agent back and says yes or no. Sometimes the seller's agents are so busy they have the buyer's agents call the sellers directly (we've discussed our dislike of this method a few times on the blog).

Sometimes the agents have assistants that can do this for them during business hours. Sometimes (espcially outside regular business hours) the seller's agents are busy with offers, listings or showings of their own and it can take them a fair bit of time to get back to people.

The business idea is to start up a company that takes care of setting up the appointments for Realtors. There is a company in the US (www.eshowings.com) that does this already, but not for Canadian Realtors.

I am a website developer and graphic designer from Edmonton. I have been in the business for 8 years. If anyone is interested in collaborating on something similar to this, I would be interested in hearing from you. I would prefer to focus my time on development of the system and partner up with someone who is strong in sales and marketing.

Thanks for revealing our idea! We’ve been working on such a service already, maybe you can post something on your blog when we get our website up.

Couldn’t something like this be accomplished fairly easily with a wiki?
