Home Owner Tip to Save Time and Money

Everyone wants trade secrets that will help them save time or make money.  As a professional on the go from morning till most often very late at night, I appreciate anything that will save me time. My day often starts fully booked and requires changes throughout the day to adapt to my clients' schedules.  Other times my day starts out pretty calm, and then before I know it's full.

Often this means catching meals on the go, postponing dinner plans and missing meals altogether. It makes family meal time a bit of a challenge. Like many families we not only have our business to schedule but the activities of children to incorporate as well.

Simplysupper1 The time saver I have discovered is Simply Supper. Since we first discovered it last month we've learned that many of our clients already know and love Simply Supper.

So what the heck is Simply Supper? They were recently profiled in the Edmonton Journal as:

"…one of more than a half-dozen Edmonton businesses that have opened up in the past couple of years with the sole intent of helping you enjoy a tasty evening meal at your own kitchen table. These new "meal assembly" outlets are often cheaper than visiting a restaurant (with better food value than many fast-food joints), and provide a nutritious and satisfying plate in a fraction of the time it would take to pull off the same effort at home."

Simplysupper2 We choose our menu for a month, we schedule a time and go in as a family (my daughter loves it) and within an hour we have 12 meals prepared and ready for freezing for the month.

How does this save us money? Well for a family of three we can make 12 tasty meals for $170.00. Now I don’t know about you, but most fast food meals are around $30 a pop and a dinner for two out can easily run in the $50 to $70 range. So even if you took the lowest number of $30 for 2 and multiply that by 12 that’s $360. So the math works out incredibly well.

What it has also done is cut down on the amount of waste from groceries we have not used. Sure we still get groceries, but the amount of groceries it would require for us to make 12 meals in just the right portion size would be fairly large and then there is a considerable amount left over.

What’s really cool is it's idiot proof. I’m not the chef in the family, but even I can go in and follow the very simple instructions to put a meal together in not time flat. It also adds to the variety of food we eat, without having to spend any time searching for recipes, finding ingredients or planning meals. We do save those enjoyable tasks for special meals, which ends up making those meals more enjoyable.

Sorry if you thought this was going to be some insight into the mysteries of real estate, but from this professional family's point of view Simply Supper is simply awesome.
